The Sioux City Stampede do it again knocking off the Midwest Titans 55-0. They will be playing in the Midwest Football Alliance championship game for the second consecutive year but this time will face off against the Des Moines Blaze. The Blaze beat the Kansas City Bulldogs this past weekend 20-19.

The Stampede and the Blaze quite a playoff history with the two playing in the Stampedes inaugural season where the Blaze beat them 56-33. The Blaze then knocked them out of the playoffs the following year but things have since changed.

In fact, the Blaze haven’t beaten the Stampede since that semi-final game in 2015 when they went on to win the MFA championship outplaying the Bulldogs 16-13.

The Stampede have different plans this go around and have already showed their dominance against them in a 46-15 route earlier this year.

The Blaze have built quite a program over the years and have always found ways to win. They were the underdogs in last weekend’s game against the Bulldogs and pulled out that victory even after suffering a 26-0 loss to them less than two month ago.

With a 5-3 overall record (4-3 in the MFA) the Blaze started off the season on a rocky path going 1-2 in their league. Keeping their focus they found ways to win and how to erase previous losses. That is exactly what they plan on doing again this weekend against the Stampede. They have since gone 3-1 and are now eyeing another upset win this weekend and another championship.

The Stampede, however, aren’t finding ways to win. They are just winning and winning big. Allowing their opponents less than two touchdowns per game and racking up over 50 points per game making this team a very well balance and dominating one.

There smallest margin of victory was to the Bulldogs in a 19-21 contest so this should be a fantastic championship match with two very dominate programs. Should the Stampede win it will be their first championship in three attempts.

The championship game will be held in Omaha this weekend August 12th.

Good luck Stampede!!
