The Wayne State Women’s rugby club won their 2nd consecutive National Championship in 7 on 7 rugby today in West Point, NY. The women went 3-0 on Saturday racking up 107 points against their opponents and not allowing the other teams to get on the score board. Sunday the women took on Simpson college out of Indianola, IA in the semifinals once again with a shut-out performance with a 20-0 win. The women from Mount St. Mary’s University gave the wildcats their biggest challenge but the wildcats of Wayne held on for a 22-17 win.
