The Warriors set the tone early in their game against Bishop Heelan, outscoring the Crusaders 14-9 in the first quarter. Chris Kroll and Jacob Shultz kept up the momentum in the second quarter with 3-pointers, and-1’s, steals, and plenty of drives to the hoop.

Kroll was the leading scorer with 22 points for the night. Shultz was next on the charts for SB-L, scoring 16 points plus 5 rebounds.

Heelan started out the second half with consecutive threes to start chipping away at their 20-point score deficit. The Crusaders soon brought that gap down to 10, but the Sergeant Bluff boys were far from giving up.

Andrew Christensen and Jackson Wright each put up 10 points this game. Christensen also pulled down 9 boards while Wright was the only Warrior with a double-double. He grabbed 11 rebounds in addition to his 10 points.

In the final 8 minutes, SB-L battled to control the tempo of the game. Even as they struggled to slow it down, the Warriors kept the lead until the end to defeat conference-rival Bishop Heelan 68-55.
