White Out In Waterloo As Knights Win 36-0

The North Iowa Knights started 2019 with a bang! They traveled to Waterloo to take on the East Iowa Storm and did not disappoint.

Knights led on offense by new starting RB Chandler Scott (Glidden) who ran for 98 yards and 3 TD.s and looked dominate most of the day with great push by the O-Line. Knights brought a two headed attack at QB with Sam Spencer (Rockwell City) passing for 160 yards 1 TD and Cody Goff (Lake City) passing for 37 yards 1 TD and 1 TD Rushing. Both QB’s hooked up with leading WR Isaac Riesselman (Carroll) who had a big day with 2 TD’s.

Knights Coach Shoesmith said

“Overall a real good game but we must improve our reads and complete more passes.”

On defense the Knights pitched the shutout lead by 1st year Knight Dan Ertz (Glidden) 7 tackles 2 sacks and a fumble recovery. Also on Defense Jason Grossman (Glidden) 6 Tackles, Juan Traveno III (Coon Rapids) 6 Tackles, and the Veteran Kamden Kramer with 5 tackles to round out a defense that only gave up 68 total yards.

With the NW Iowa Bulldogs and CB Spartans both losing the Knights find themselves atop the MFL North Division at 1-0.

Knights first home game is this Saturday in Early, Iowa VS Nebraska Lawdawgs (0-0) with a 7pm Kick-Off.

Knight’s player/coach Justin Witzke (Schaller) said

“I challenge Knights fans to pack Knights Field in Early Saturday 7pm and they won’t be disappointed.”
