No Swimming, Again

No swimming today.
No swimming tomorrow.
The pools are empty,
but I’m filled with sorrow.

No more tan lines.
No more sore eyes.
No more Marco Polo,
cannon balls, flips, or dives.

Sunburns will have to wait.
The lazy river is dry.
Splishing and splashing
won’t happen this July.

But….

There’s always next year
after this summer comes to an end.
I just hope they don’t say
no swimming, again.
