The SB-L boys’ varsity basketball game on Friday at East High School had all the elements of an exciting night: a great match-up, deafening crowd, and electric atmosphere.

Once the game got underway, Jacob Shultz quickly pulled down a rebound for SB-L and drove it all the way to the other end for 2. Not long after, Shultz drained a three-pointer. These dynamic plays would eventually lead him to top the SB-L charts with 18 total points and 3 steals.

The second quarter brought a much faster pace than the first, but the Warriors did their best to keep up. Shultz hit his second of what would become four 3’s by the end of the night and Chris Kroll, the second leading scorer for SB-L, had a three-pointer of his own to contribute towards his 13 points.

The third Warrior to sink a three against East was Keegan Savary who ended up just behind Shultz and Kroll on the SB-L leaderboard with 8 points. In addition, Savary grabbed an incredible 10 rebounds for Sgt. Bluff, the most of his teammates by far.

Also making respectable contributions to the solid showing from SB-L were Jackson Wright with 6 points and Connor Prescott with 3 points, along with Andrew Christensen who had 5 rebounds and Isaac Croston who had 4 rebounds.

Even though this game did not result in a Warrior victory, the team did play well. They fought hard and made some big plays against a big school. SB-L will keep their winning record of 9-8 as they finish out their season with four home games.
