At every South Sioux City basketball game, there is a half time show starring the schools very own #SSCDT, or South Sioux City Dance Team.

The group consists of 23 girls varying from the ages of 14-18, and this year they are split into two separate groups: the Red Squad (Varsity) and the White Squad (Junior Varsity).

The head coaches are Riley Meier and Bobbie Borchers.

The entire dance team has four captains: three juniors and one senior.

One of the junior captains, Autumn Campbell, was recently interviewed by our very own Journalist, Yessica Bautista.

“I’m excited for MA (a national dance competition held here in South Sioux City High School on January 31) this year, because it’s a lot of fun to get your hair and makeup done, and to dance all day”,

Autumn said when being interviewed.

The team practices Monday’s, Thursday’s, and Friday’s, at 6:15am- a total of about four hours a week.

The team is excited for this year’s season, and hopes to do well at competitions they will travel to, as well as halftime performances.
