rachelle-tucker-pierce-nebraska-basketball-3Rachelle Tucker of Pierce, Nebraska has had quite a career in high school girl’s basketball.  She holds the Pierce High School records for most points scored in a season at 512, a record she set this year, and career points at 1,324.  Her numbers just this past season are staggering to look at.  She had 13 double doubles with 263 rebounds and 62 blocked shots.  That’s just one seasons worth of stats!

One may think that growing up in a small town would hurt her basketball career but that isn’t the case.  In fact, it only showcased her abilities when she led her team to their third consecutive state title last month.  The 6-2 senior, who was named Huskerland’s Class C1 Girls Basketball Player of the Year, wanted to go out on top and that’s what she did.  She scored 50 points at state to increase her state scoring mark at 160 to become the 25th all-time scoring.  She also combined for 31 rebounds in the last three games of her high school career.

She is a true example of what a student athlete should be performing both on the court and in the classroom

and was an NCPA Academic All State for basketball both her junior and senior seasons.

This fall she plans on playing Division 1 basketball at the University of Wyoming on a full ride scholarship.  Furthering her knowledge and education is important to her and she plans on studying animal and veterinary science.  Rachelle also played softball and ran track in high school but she will now focus strictly on basketball and her academics in college.  Rachelle said that her fondest basketball memories are winning the state titles and playing with her AAU teams.  Good luck Rachelle!  We know that you are going to create many more basketball memories!
