The Sioux City Stampede add to their undefeated season with another big win over the Des Moines Blaze bringing their record to 5-0.

The Des Moines Blaze hosted the Stampede who have been knocking around the competition in the Midwest Football Alliance and coming off a big win against the top rated Kansas City Bulldogs. The Blaze, however, were not intimidated and were just coming off a huge shutout win against the Chillicothe Swarm 52-0.

That shutout boosted Des Moines’ defense confidence and it showed. Forcing turnovers with interceptions and negative rushing yards against Stampede quarterback Scott Manley.

The Stampede’s defense also showed up and prove to be the deciding factor forcing 10 turnovers. Two fumble recoveries and 8 interceptions returning three for touchdowns and deflected 7 other passes.

Titus Bland had two of those interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. Tyrae Kemp and Corey Wortman both returned an interception for a touchdown and Mike Trobaugh added two interceptions. Kemp also had a fumble recovery.

After a slow start in the first quarter the Stampede slowly gained control of the game and walked away with a 46-15 win. They are back in action again this weekend and again have an away game. This time in Omaha against the Omaha Stockmen. Kickoff is at 7pm Saturday evening at Ralston High School.
