The SB-L guys came out fired up and ready to play as they took a commanding lead with five three-point plays in the first quarter. Connor Groves and Keegan Savary sunk two three-pointers each, and Jackson Wright put in the “and 1” on a fouled shot. However, Dakota Valley stepped up their game to gain a narrow lead by halftime.

Savary and Wright were just two of the impressive four SB-L players to score in the double-digits against the Panthers. Joining them were Chris Kroll and Sam DeMoss.

Wright and Kroll shared the top of the charts with 14 points a-piece. Savary was right behind with 13, and DeMoss had 11. Groves ended the night with 8 after suffering an ankle injury.

Savary and Wright were also the first- and second-leading rebounders with 8 and 7 boards respectively.

In the second half, Dakota Valley started with a three-pointer but the Warriors hustled to quickly make it 34 all. The Panthers kept it close in the final minutes, but SB-L stuck with it to earn the “W,” 69-62. Head Coach Adam Vander Schaaf was happy “to get a tough road win over a quality opponent.”
