The Warriors took on cross-town rivals Bishop Heelan in their home opener last Tuesday. Keegan Savary started SB-L off strong, quickly putting up two points and sinking a three as well. Collin Croston followed with a few more baskets to put the Warriors up by 6 after the first quarter. Savary contributed 11 points to the team throughout the night. Croston had 9 points plus 5 rebounds.
Connor Groves started off the second quarter with a three-pointer for the Warriors. Then Chris Kroll took over, draining four more three-pointers before halftime. Kroll was SB-L’s leading scorer for the night with 19 points and 6 rebounds too. Groves had an impressive 7 assists throughout the game.
The Warriors kept rolling in the second half despite a handful of threes from Heelan that kept them within 10 points of the lead. Jackson Wright helped seal the deal for SB-L with a few 2+1 plays, getting fouled on made shots and swishing the free throws. Wright was the top Warrior rebounder for the night with 7 boards and also the second-leading scorer with 13 points.

He was proud of the spirit, energy, and toughness his team continued to bring throughout the game. SB-L stayed on top until the final buzzer, beating the Crusaders 62-41.
